The Boot Celebrates Milestone: 100 Transitioning Service Members Placed in Louisiana in First 10 Months of Operations
Baton Rouge, LA - The Boot, Louisiana's military recruiting initiative dedicated to attracting and resettling transitioning service members (TSMs) into the state, proudly announces a major milestone: the successful placement of its 100th transitioning service member into a career in Louisiana. This achievement comes just 10 months after the organization's official launch, marking a significant step forward in workforce development and veteran retention across the state, as well as generating a $6.6M positive economic impact.
Founded in partnership with the Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs and the Office of the Governor, The Boot connects TSMs with job opportunities, housing support, and community integration resources, encouraging them to "stay boots-on in Louisiana" after their military service.
"This isn't just about numbers-this is about lives changed, communities strengthened, and Louisiana gaining 100 proven leaders in less than a year," said Ben Armstrong, CEO of The Boot. "Our veterans bring unmatched skill, discipline, and loyalty to the workforce, and we're just getting started. Our goal is to continue this upward trajectory and make Louisiana the top destination for military talent transitioning to civilian life."
Charlton Meginley, Secretary of the Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs, echoed the sentiment: "The Boot is a game-changer for our state. We're not only thanking our veterans for their service-we're offering them a future here. Placing 100 veterans in 10 months is proof that this model works and is worth expanding."
Among those placed is Daniel Davis, a recently transitioned U.S. Air Force Staff Sergeant. "The Boot doesn't just throw generic advice at you - they dig in, connect you with local opportunities, and provide hands on support tailored to your skills and goals," said Davis. "With their resources and dedication, you're not just transitioning - you're stepping into something meaningful, right here at home."
The Boot continues to partner with employers, local governments, and veterans' organizations across Louisiana, building a comprehensive ecosystem to support transitioning service members and their families. With this early benchmark achieved, The Boot sets its sights on continued growth and deeper impact in the months ahead.
